I've been thinking about time away. That is, time away from jobs, friends, exercise, family who doesn't live with us, and what it will mean to get back together, even though it's not the warm and cozy normal getting together or responding to the once-familiar. Remembering how we walked as one and how we walk as one with our heavenly father.
1. I wanted to ask God to breathe on us, asking him to be reminded of his strength through his impressive physical events on this earth, fire fall, rushing wind, the shaking, trembling earth, his spirit, the part of him that we can sense. His power!
2. As we enter into his courts—the maker of all things, into his holy presence, that we are reminded of how much the earth responds to his power—the fields will exalt, the seas will resound, the trees will put off their joyful cry praising you...as so will I. We will glorify his holy name.
3. Desiring the Lord to speak to us as we come together. To teach us full obedience. I got drawn to the line in verse three "Speak O Lord and renew our minds. Help us grasp the heights of your plans for us." "We are no longer children," because, as you have written "...reminding them that Christ is the one who is directing us all. That He gave each different gifts, because they all fit together to make one healthy, whole body and all are needed and appreciated. And we will only grow into what God wants us to be as we work together as one sharing His love to each other and to the world."
The Lord’s Supper: (We use grape juice and small pieces of unleavened bread, but you can use anything handy to remember Jesus’ death, burial and resurrection. Make it a special part of your worship. And remember, we are doing this together, even if separated!).
