What to Expect on Sunday Morning | The Christian Church

Here are 4 ideas to help you get started:

How long is the service? It’s nice to know how long a service typically runs so people can plan accordingly.
What about kids? Visitors with children like to know what to do when they first walk in—should they head to the kid’s classrooms or bring them into the main service? Also, they want to know what kind of care their child will be receiving.
What’s the service like? Let people know the style of music, whether the service is formal or informal, and other details so they know what to expect. Try to make these details reflect the mission and values of your church.
How do people normally dress? People feel more comfortable in a new place when they don’t feel like they stand out.

You can expect to be welcomed. We look forward to meeting you.

You can expect to find people who love the Lord, but people who are not perfect.

You can expect children to be included.

There is a nursery for infants to 2 year old

There is a "cry room" that has a live feed of the worship service

There are special children's bulletins

There is a children's moment when children are brought to the front to hear a message just for them.

There is a children's program for 3 to 7 year old after the children's moment

You can expect to see people dressed differently. Some in a suit, some in jeans, some in a dress, some in shorts. We really don’t care, so wear what you like.

You can expect authentic worship. We sing, pray, study, make offerings, and take communion together.

You can expect to observe communion every week.

You can expect our worship style to vary from week to week, but the heart of worship remains focused on encountering our living Lord. The songs are led by a worship leader and their team of vocalists and instrumentalists. We use a variety of instruments - drums, organ, electric guitar, acoustic guitar, harp, piano, electric bass, keyboard, etc.. It all depends of the talents of those serving.

At 9:15 AM You can expect to find small group Bible studies for all ages scattered throughout the church building. They are open and friendly. Some are covering topics, others only the Bible.

At 10:15 AM You can expect to find folks standing around the church drinking coffee, eating donuts, dropping children off in the nursery, and visiting with one another.

At 10:30 AM You can expect to find everyone gathered to worship in the sanctuary, children included. After communion there is a children's message, and then they are invited to leave the service to have their own lesson during the sermon.

At the end, You can expect an invitation to respond to the message. When we leave, many stand around visiting, making plans to each lunch together, and parents are picking up their children.
